Welcome to The Tasteful Pantry. These Terms and Conditions explain the rules for using thetastefulpantry.com (the Site).

The Site is an Australian recipe website operated by me, Lindsay (also known as Elby), from Canberra, Australia. In these Terms, “I”, “me” and “my” refer to the operator of The Tasteful Pantry, and “you” and “your” refer to anyone who visits or uses the Site.

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Changes to these Terms and Conditions

I may update these Terms when the Site, its services or relevant laws change. The revised Terms will be published on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after an update means that the revised Terms apply from the date they are published.

General information only

The recipes, articles, tips and other material on the Site are provided for general information, education and enjoyment. Although I take reasonable care when developing and publishing content, I cannot guarantee that every item will always be complete, current, accurate or suitable for your particular circumstances.

You are responsible for deciding whether information on the Site is appropriate for you and for using your own judgement when preparing food, selecting ingredients and using kitchen equipment.

Recipes and cooking results

I develop and test recipes using the ingredients, appliances and methods described. Results can still vary because ingredients, brands, substitutions, equipment, oven temperatures, altitude, humidity, cooking skills and serving sizes are not identical in every kitchen.

Cooking times and temperatures are guides unless expressly stated otherwise. You are responsible for checking that food is safely prepared, cooked, stored and served and for following the instructions and safety information supplied with your appliances and equipment.

If you are under 18, please use the Site and prepare recipes with the involvement and supervision of a parent or guardian, particularly when using knives, heat or electrical appliances.

Nutrition, allergies and dietary needs

Any nutritional information on the Site is an estimate only. Actual values may vary according to the ingredients, brands, substitutions, quantities and serving sizes you use.

I am not a doctor, dietitian, nutritionist or allergist. Nothing on the Site is medical, nutritional or dietary advice, and the Site is not a substitute for advice from an appropriately qualified professional.

You are responsible for checking ingredient labels and determining whether a recipe, ingredient or suggested substitution is suitable for you and your household. Product ingredients and manufacturing practices can change, and cross-contamination may occur. Take particular care if you are managing allergies, intolerances, coeliac disease, pregnancy, illness or another medical or dietary concern.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the original written content, photographs, graphics, branding and creative presentation on the Site are owned by or licensed to The Tasteful Pantry and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may:

view the Site for your personal, non-commercial use;
save or print a recipe for your own personal, non-commercial use; and
link to a post, provided the link and description are accurate and do not suggest that I endorse or sponsor you.

Unless the law permits it or I give you prior written permission, you must not:

republish a complete post, photograph or set of recipe instructions;
copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, license or commercially exploit Site content;
remove a watermark, copyright notice or attribution;
frame the Site or present its content in a way that suggests it belongs to someone else;
systematically download, scrape, harvest or extract Site content, other than ordinary indexing by a recognised search engine; or
use Site content to build a dataset, train or develop an artificial-intelligence system, or generate automated content.

If you would like to feature a recipe or photograph, please contact me first to discuss permission and appropriate credit. Sharing a link to the original post is always welcome.

Comments and recipe ratings

You may be able to leave comments or recipe ratings on the Site. You remain responsible for anything you submit and must ensure that it is truthful, relevant and lawful and that you have the right to share it.

You must not submit material that:

infringes another person’s copyright, privacy or other rights;
is unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, threatening, abusive or obscene;
contains spam, undisclosed advertising, malicious code or misleading links;
impersonates another person; or
deliberately misrepresents your experience with a recipe.

When you submit a comment or rating, you give me a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, display and format that material as reasonably necessary to operate and present the Site. You retain ownership of your content.

I may moderate, edit, refuse or remove comments and ratings that breach these Terms or are otherwise inappropriate, misleading, unsafe, spam-like or unrelated to the relevant post. I am not obliged to publish or retain any submission.

Comments express the views of their authors, not necessarily the views of The Tasteful Pantry. I am not responsible for advice, claims or information posted by other visitors.

Acceptable use

You must not use the Site in a way that is unlawful, fraudulent or harmful, or that interferes with its operation or another person’s use of it. This includes attempting to gain unauthorised access to the Site or its systems, introducing malicious code, bypassing security measures, collecting personal information without permission, or placing an unreasonable load on the Site.

I may restrict or block access where I reasonably believe these Terms have been breached or the Site, its visitors or its systems may be at risk.

Affiliate links, recommendations and sponsored content

Some pages may contain affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, I may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Affiliate or sponsored relationships will be disclosed where required and do not determine what I say about a product.

Recommendations reflect my opinion or experience at the time of publication. You are responsible for deciding whether a product or service is suitable for you. Prices, availability, product details and retailer terms may change without notice.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, third-party products and services are not sold by The Tasteful Pantry. Any purchase you make through an external website is a transaction between you and that third party and is governed by its terms, policies and consumer obligations.

External links and embedded content

The Site may contain links to or embedded content from third-party websites and services. These are provided for convenience or additional information. I do not control those third parties and do not guarantee their availability, accuracy, security, products, services or practices.

A link or reference does not necessarily mean that I endorse the third party. Please review the third party’s own terms and privacy policy before relying on its content, providing personal information or making a purchase.

Site availability and security

I take reasonable steps to maintain and protect the Site, but I do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or free from errors or harmful components. I may change, suspend or remove any part of the Site without notice, including to carry out maintenance, improve content or address security concerns.

You are responsible for using suitable device security, maintaining backups and deciding whether to download or rely on material from the internet.

Consumer rights and limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified, including any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Subject to those rights, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, The Tasteful Pantry is not responsible for loss, damage, illness, injury, cost or expense arising from or connected with:

your use of or reliance on the Site or its content;
ingredients, substitutions, dietary choices, allergies or food-handling practices;
differences in cooking results;
your use of kitchen appliances or equipment;
comments or other material submitted by visitors;
a third-party website, product, service or transaction; or
interruption, error, data loss, malicious code or unauthorised access beyond my reasonable control.

This section is not intended to exclude liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Privacy

Your use of the Site is also subject to the Privacy Policy, Cookies and Disclosures, which explains how personal information and cookies are handled and includes further information about affiliate links, recipe content, nutrition and allergies.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory and the Commonwealth of Australia. Subject to any rights you have under applicable law, the courts of the Australian Capital Territory and any courts entitled to hear appeals from them have jurisdiction in relation to these Terms.

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply.
