Banana Mango Smoothie

Banana Mango Smoothie is a quick and easy breakfast, brunch or afternoon snack. Smoothies are a healthy and fast option for busy mornings or afternoons. And also an easy afternoon tea that the kids can make for themselves.
Have some leftover mango? Use it up in my Mango Avocado Salsa or Tropical Smoothie.
Dietary Requirements
The Banana Mango Smoothie is vegetarian, gluten-free and nut-free. However, you can make it dairy-free and vegan by swapping the cow’s milk for unsweetened coconut milk or unsweetened almond milk, both from a carton. Or any other variety of non-dairy milk. Swap the full cream milk for a low-fat milk – making for a lower fat smoothie version, if that is what you prefer. You can also bulk up the protein with vanilla protein powder, a teaspoon of chia seeds, a quarter of an avocado, or a tablespoon of cashews.
Frozen Banana Mango Smoothie
Smoothies are a fantastic way of using up old fruit and vegetables. However, your freezer can make this step even better. Not only will freezing fruits and vegetables make them last longer, they also make your smoothie thicker and colder.
You can also freeze the smoothie itself, either in ice-block moulds or in small containers to make an individual serve. A healthy and yummy treat the kids can help make, or make all by themselves.
Ingredients to freeze: The banana, mango and mint can all be frozen ready for the smoothie. Not only making for a refreshing and icy cold treat, but also potentially reducing waste. Peel the banana and cut into 2 inch pieces. Use frozen mango from the supermarket or cut up fresh mango and freeze in separate serving sizes. Pull the mint leaves off the stem and freeze in an airtight container or zip lock bag.
